Campo Aposento Alto: Team Chants
When we assembled the teams on the first day each team (seemingly of their own volition) created a team chant which they sang every time their team was mentioned, they heard another team chanting, they won, lost, tied.... It really didn't take much to get them started, the real trick was getting them to stop.
Our team chant was far from the best, but I wasn't complaining, it was easy. That is until day 3, when our group decided that our team chant was TOO simple and it was getting overshadowed by some of the better and more catchy chants. Thirty minutes later we had a new anthem, unfortunately it just ended up being a poor attempt at overcompensation. I couldn't follow along with any of the new lyrics, so after mumbling my way through a few times one of the girls on my team kindly offered to write the words down which I gratefully accepted. When the team was about to start singing I scrambled for my lyrics to sing along.
Original Chant:
"Art-es-a-nos! Art-es-a-nos! Art-es-a-nos - Siii!"
New Chant:
"Artesanos, vamos ganando como lo hace artesanos, todo lo que hemos jugado lo hemos ganado como Artesanos."
If I'm honest, even with the lyrics it wasn't easy to sing along with. Were they trying to make it a tongue twister?
